In 2020, writer, tech thinker, and founding executive editor of “Wired” magazine Kevin Kelly began compiling tidbits of life advice he had accumulated over his 68 years of life. Three years later, he published “Excellent Advice for Living: Wisdom I Wish I’d Known Earlier,” excerpted here. Throughout the course of his decades-long career, Kelly has become a founding member of cyberculture as we know it today and has committed himself to leaving a footprint of technological awareness and innovation. This one-sentence musing is indicative of his own artistic and professional motivations and serves as a call to action for us to consider our own. While our passions should reflect our values and goals, what we do with them ought to be far larger than ourselves.
